In the late 1990s, Shaneybrook began an adventure to return quality rug weaving to America.

The rest of the industry shunned the high quality wilton and axminister rugs over fifty years ago and no period looms still existed in this country... decades ago they were all broken apart for scrap.

After four years of painstaking searching, Shaneybrook found a mill near Oslo, Norway and a mill in Kidderminster, England to move to Shaneybrook's farm here on the east coast of the United States.

The pictures below show a small selection of images from the building of the new fatory and the arrival and installation of the looms into the factory. The looms have been erected, but there is still a lot of work to do.

We are working toward and look forward to the day when we'll be weaving and the rugs will be rolling off the looms!
