Shaneybrook's Appraisal services offers advice regarding personal property assets to private clients, trusts, estates, and institutions.
We provide professional, efficient and confidential advice and assistance for all appraisal services, primarily focused on:

Shaneybrook's is a licensed appraiser and Sothebys.com associate with experience in all forms of rug, textile, and antiquities (with a specialty in Maryland and Baltimore painted period furniture).
Depending on the location of your property, Shaneybrook's can offer an initial examination or preliminary review of property by photograph (via email or postal mail) in order to determine the scope of your property and/or collection. We will then conduct the appraisal utilizing the expertise of our appraisal specialists. Estimates based on photographic images are subject to revision upon first hand inspection.
A complete appraisal will include detailed property description and itemized value(s) and any other appropriately related documents. Shaneybrook's appraisals are widely accepted by the Internal Revenue Service, tax and estate planning professionals, and insurance firms.
The appraisal fee is based on the volume and nature of property, as well as the amount of research, time and number of specialists required. Written appraisal fees begin at $150.00. Shaneybrook's will refund the fee pro rata should you consign any of the property to us for potential sale.
In the event that a consignment is considered, we would be pleased to provide auction estimates, a proposal for sale, and a comprehensive marketing plan, depending upon the property and its potential value. When sales are underway, Shaneybrook's specialists work to ensure that clients' needs are met promptly and efficiently.
Please note, any insurance related appraisal(s) requires first-hand inspection by a Shaneybrook officer or agent.
